The store works as described. There isn't any other way.
Note that the order notification has links to each product page anyway and there is text telling buyers to get the downloads there. You can change the templates if you think the wording needs to be different.
There are plenty of other DNN stores these days and one of them will probably have a better download system. The one in this store is only very basic.
