If you export all settings and templates and then import all of them again, then everything is back to what it was in the first place... including all faults and errors. That's the expected behaviour.
What you need to do depends on how greatly things have been modified and how much a new feature or fix is needed.
In this case, if you need the fix for that flickering, then you will definitely need the new stylesheet.css template.
And ideally you would also use the new productlist.template and productdetail.template, but you may have modified yours - only you will know if you did.
You should also reset productlistcss.includes and productlistjs.includes so that it loads only the required items.
Resetting those should get you back on track without resetting the rest.
Just make sure you export the original configuration first as a backup in case something goes wrong.
