Sorry about the late answer
By log files in portal root you mean actual files in the directory structure or the site log accessed through the admin menu? if the former i'll have to take a look tonight if the later in which one? so far haven't seen such entry
As for the paypal option, since i don't see it in the checkout module settings i assume you mean paypal itself - i'll have a talk with our paypal manager to look it up

PS - by the way, yesterday i had two sales almost back to back. The first worked just fine and everything was at it should. The second one failled by keeping the order in a waiting for payment status. Odd that it only happens sometimes.
Am thinking maybe clients browsers may have a part in this issue. Some sort of incompatibility with either DNN or the store itself. I've asked them to tell me what they use but not sure they will answer - specially since i've solved the issue with orders in the BackOffice already
