thanks for the answer - I understood it the right way.
As it is possible that another role than "Registered Users" can be set in the "customer.role" setting, the help text for this setting should be modified. Instead of "You must also enable registered user accounts on your website and disable anonymous checkout." it should read something like "You have to define a role in "customer.role", activate users in this role and disable anonymous checkout." - Well, OK, it's a matter of taste...
