I can't find the reason why its not applying the model.

Hope someone can tell me what's wrong as I really don't have any clue!!

I always just use the Product XML or CSV Import file, that should be fine, right? What't the Import Model/Price CSV File for? Would that be worth a try? But then... How does a CSV for that import look like?
