Hi,
The table will never skip a number, I suspect it's created and then deleted by the scheduler, because the order is at a not completed/cancelled status in the Back Office.

If the order is processed through paypal then it should return a IPN or return to the store. I suspect the IPN is not working correctly, and if you don't have paypal setup to force your clients to return, the store thinks the order has been cancelled and therefore is removed.


My first thought would be to check your IPN is working, next would be to make paypal force the return to the store.

To verify this you could turn of the clean up scheduler, but this also purges carts, so if you have a busy store it might end up with a lot of redundant cart data.
