Hi apluspcct,
Just to add to Robs suggestions...
If you split the products up into color or size you can place the products in multiple categories...
for example: category Size, category Color, category type
Then for each product you can use the "Related products" option to let the user know of other options available.
We have done this many times by using the related products, multiple categories and a drop-down for the models.
Its just a way of thinking.
Plan it out and you'll accomplish what you are looking for and to make it easy for your visitors to find what they are looking for.
Regards,
Geoff
