The managermenu only sets up the store the first time, or if you reset everything back to defaults. It can't really be considered to be documentation.
The localisation of everything that was referenced from the managermenu file is normally done through the Back Office Settings and Templates tabs.
If you then want to save a copy of your localised strings and templates, you can export it through the Back Office Admin tab. That creates a new managermenu with everything in it that you choose to be in it.
Some labels may be taken from the module's app_localresources folder as well. Those can be localised in the normal DNN manner.
