Maybe double-check that the correct templates are applied in the list module settings.
Also check you haven't applied custom templates for your categories in the back office.
Try adding a list module to another page and see if it works there with the default settings.
The templates don't even have to have anything other than maybe 'hello' in them. If you think something in the tempalte might be messed up, just wipe it and put a word in and see if it displays that.
I'm assuming you're checking the page source and can see if the list content is there or not. A broken tag might be msessing it up?
