New Post: Unit for weight

Hello,
in my models table for one of the websites I get the currency symbol instead of Kg, for instance, in the weight column. Which settings controls that? Why the modelsrow template for weight, contrary to the other fields, contains the hash caracter and what does that mean? [Model:#Weight]
