Afaik theres no such functionality in NBS, but it might be worth considering for future implementations I think. :-)
For now I guess the way to do this in NBS would be by making one product and then use the models for each serial and set just 1 in stock of each.
With a bit of handiness id say u could make such a product, export it, use excel to generate keys and copy/paste those keys to each their own model in the exported product file, then import the product back into NBS.
I agree that it aint up to par, but its a workaround and if u don't trade too many serials per week, the updating wouldn't be such a big pain after all I guess. :-D
