Its great the way the NB Store is so flexible!
My first thought was what Rob said but, I might have another couple of options for you...
Option 1 : embed the description into the productlist.template and productdetails.template then every product will have the same description that you are trying to achieve. The bad thing about this way is that you would have to create more template for the categories (1 for the flags and 1 for the flag pole foe example)
Option 2 : is more flexible but I haven't tried this. Create a Bespoke field for the product with a standard text so when you create a new product the standard text which is in the bespoke text field is saved when saving the product. When the product doesn't need the description or needs to be changed you either delete or change the text in the bespoke field.
