New Post: outofstockmodels.flag not working?

Ok I see what this is about.

When only one item is left across all models, the models selector/radio button and the models table do not show. It does this because it thinks there are no more choices, which is true.

This was the original functionality of the store and it is a feature of the store code rather than the template code. The templates can't do anything to make these items show.

Also in the original functionality was that out of stock models would always be removed from the selector/radio button and models table.

The flag for forcing out of stock models to continue to show on the list was a later paid modification for a store of mine. That mod only had to serve its purpose for the store is was done for at the time, which it did.

However, it makes sense that customers need to know exactly which model of a product they are buying, even when they are buying the last one in stock across all models.

And the issue here is that the selector/radio button and models table are removed at that point.

There would need to be a new core store modification to optionally disable the function that hides those items when total model stock is 1, possibly also when total stock is 0, as is being requested in another thread at the moment.

Now, the next problem is that something merely being logical is not sufficient reason for Dave to create a new build of this version of the store these days. The recent store releases have all been the result of sponsored modifications and all unpaid development is going into the store rewrite. That means getting a new change done will require approaching Dave for a quote, or providing the modified code for merging into a later release.

Regards
Rob
