Hi,

I would like to add my 2 cent to this thread......

This is not meant to be a criticism to you or your site but the problems that you have mentioned are not the problems as to way you are not selling...

You can quote numbers a figures but if your site doesn't match your targeted client base, you are not going to sell.
  1. as Robax mentioned, I myself found it extremely hard to find when the products you are trying to sell. I also asked a couple of colleges that were in the office at the time to find the products and they had the same problem.
If you want to sell make sure that the products are found easily, make a menu item "shop" or "winkel" or most importantly place the products directly on the front page (Home) and also make sure there is NOT a kilometer of text above the products. You potential clients will just click away from your site finding to to hard to find the product they want.
  1. Once a person finds a product then adds it to the basket and looks further, they cannot easily find out where to checkout (pay), make sure there is a "checkout" or "Winkelwagen" in the main menu.
  2. If you look at how people buy your product, I am sure they will only buy 1 product. In the ProductList settings there is an option under Tabs/Pages called "Terug verwijzen naar winkelwagen:" in dutch, this option will redirect the user directly to the checkout once he/she has added the product to the basket.
  3. If you are placing regional Adwords (in Dutch) and advertising on Marktplaats which is ONLY for the Dutch market, why is your site in English? Surely it would have been a better idea to have it in Dutch for your targeted market or multilingual (i.e. Dutch as the main language and English for the international visitors).
  4. Mobile.... The first thing I did was to check the site out on my mobile, it was not pleasant viewing, I had to scroll and scroll, the menu system is not optimal, the text goes off the screen etc. When I did manage to get to the product list it was also not responsive, If you think that most people nowadays use there mobiles to browser for info/products you are not going to get any sales that way.
  5. The styling of your site, the background image you are using is huge, the blog is not responsive, the site doesn't not look very appealing at all and does not match to the product you are selling, especially the prices at are being asked for the product.
  6. Have you checked out your competition? Trust me there are plenty of others selling the same products, have a look to see how they are selling their products you might just realize that it might be an idea to set up your site in a different way.
Basically what I'm trying to say is quite simple...
  • There is no one hacking your site
  • There is no one messing with you
  • If the viewer doesn't find what they are looking for they will leave quickly
You can talk about numbers here and percentages there and say its got nothing to do with your site setup or products but the fact is that people are saying differently.

We have build a few of this type of sites (selling art) and in dutch so we do know what we are talking about.

Again : this is not meant to be a criticism to you or your site, use the information given by the people who have given up the time and effort to try and help you out.

If you would like to have professional help in setting you site up correctly just drop me a message and I'll see what I can do for you.

Hope this helps you out,

Kind regards,

Geoff.
