OK, so after many many presses of F10/F11 and bottle of asprin. I have found the cause of this and ITS NOT nb store!
It was another module on our nb store page products page, a DNN360's CISS.SideMenu module configured to be the categories menu. Sadly it falls over horribly if the category doent exist!
I feel like such an idiot, i totally forgot the category menu we use is not yours as its become such an integral part of our catalogue and weve not touched it since i installed and set it up over six months ago. I will have to debug his code instead, which is a problem for me as ive never got the source version working since we bought it. I was hoping i would get lucky and not need to get the source working, so much for that.
I would like to say thanks to all who have replied, and applaud your efforts and patience in supporting a product that is turning out to be a lot more stable than the muppet who put it on the page /hide. Oh well lesson learned, check EVERY module on a page, then get someone else to check your not blind/mad/stupid (or all three).
Now ive got to style your menu to fit the bosses wims..... wheres that asprin....
